This would be more help than hinderance really, isn't guildwars philosophy to make every purchasable item obtainable given enough time and effort? If people are willing to spend real money on items, and then sell that stuff to people for in-game cash, more power to them. It allows ANet to keep it's core philosophy intact, moves the in-game economy, and makes money for ANet instead of chinese gold farmers.

For games with a heavy social element, a significant amount of extra cash can be made by allowing gifting. For everyone who would never spend a dime on cosmetic crap there is a proportion of people who'd buy it for themselves and decide to treat a couple of other gamers to something they wouldn't otherwise buy.
